HEad coach Benjamin's Story
Coach Benjamin’s Journey into the Financial Markets
Coach Benjamin was first exposed to the financial markets during the COVID-19 lockdown—a period of uncertainty that sparked new interests and opportunities. Guided by two friends—one an analyst at Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India & SEA) and the other at Philips Securities—he began his early journey through options trading and value investing.

With limited knowledge but strong curiosity, Benjamin stepped into managing funds for friends and family. Unfortunately, due to his inexperience, he suffered losses that led to a difficult season marked by emotional and mental setbacks. It was a humbling chapter—but not the end.

Despite the challenges, his passion for the markets remained strong. Determined to grow, he invested more time and resources into deepening his understanding. Eventually, he discovered a community and mentor specializing in range trading. At first, the idea of trading again was intimidating—he felt the same fear of loss creeping back. But as he learned the principles of risk management, that fear began to fade.

He realized that trading didn’t have to feel like gambling. With the right mindset and a clear framework, it could be structured, logical, and controlled. This shift transformed his approach—and reignited his confidence.

Having spent much of his adult life coaching and empowering others, Benjamin felt a natural calling to share what he had learned in the markets. Today, his vision is to teach range trading as a skill, hobby, and sport—making it accessible to anyone with a learner’s heart, a modest budget, and the desire to build a practical, long-term financial skillset.

His ultimate goal as a mentor is to build a vibrant community that is full of collaborative, competent, consistent, courageous and compassionate traders with a growth mindset—where individuals take ownership of their financial health, exchange insights, and support one another through the highs, lows, joys, and challenges of the trading journey.

Benjamin also hopes to instill compassion and camaraderie among his students, knowing that trading can often feel discouraging, lonely, and dry. He believes no trader should walk this path alone—and that with the right community, everyone can grow stronger together. Based on his experience, Benjamin believes that students interested in trading should see it first as a hobby and sport so that they can focus on mastering a skill and the learning process rather than falling into the counterproductive trap of performance.

In his free time, Benjamin loves to spend time with loved one, read, fish, play tennis and music.
